He knew I meant the look, not the departure. “Well, if you’d seen the movie like I did-” he continued. “I meant the look, dad! What was she thinking? What did she see? Why didn’t she say anything? What happened to her kid!? Did you even see her kid? How do you just leave your kid like that?! It didn’t even look like there were any emergency exits back there. ”“It was the movie. It’s not that important. It was just a movie.” He paused to give me an opportunity to take his words in.
